York Unlocked is delighted to announce the return of its acclaimed Open Weekend, taking
place on 27–28 September 2025, offering visitors access to some of the city’s most
interesting and significant buildings, and spaces for FREE - many of which are normally closed to the public.
The weekend festival allows residents and visitors to see York in a new way, and aims to educate and inspire a love of architecture. York Unlocked includes both historic and modern buildings as well as beautiful outdoor spaces across the City of York.
Full details of all this year's buildings and spaces will be available from early August. Some buildings and tours require booked tickets (FREE) and will be released mid August, though many buildings do not require booking - just turn up.
