About

Explore the Sledmere Estate and take in the stunning displays of our wild primroses.

Spring brings the hope of sunnier days and of being able to get out and about in the countryside. Our Primrose Ramble is a fantastic opportunity to wander, ramble, stroll and explore areas of Sledmere Estate that are normally closed off to the public.

These beautiful wild primroses have self-seeded making spectacular displays through the valleys and woodlands around the grounds and further out around the Estate.

Collect the route map from the Ticket Office, and follow the arrows from the front of Sledmere House - the route has been changed and shortened this year as we have had some trees down on the Estate.

Please note that this walk is through undulating woodland and along field tracks, and is approximately 2 miles, so sturdy footwear is advised and unfortunately it is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Please also be aware that there is one road to cross.

Normal Parkland and Gardens admissions apply. Free to Sledmere Season Ticket Holders and 2025 Friends Members.
