About

Join Paul Ventress, a York-based hatter and member of the British Hat Guild, for an evening exploring the evolution of men’s hats from the late Stuart era through to the Georgian period.
With years of expertise in traditional hat-making, Paul will talk through the changing styles, materials and cultural significance of men’s headwear during this transformative time. From the iconic tricorn to the emergence of the top hat, Paul will reveal how these hats reflected shifts in fashion, society, and even politics.
Whether you're a history enthusiast, a lover of craftsmanship, or simply curious about the timeless art of hat-making, this event promises to be both informative and inspiring.
