About
Uncover the history of Treasurer’s House through touch, sound, and imagination in a brand-new tour for visually impaired visitors.
This specific tour is an enhanced version of the 'By appointment' tour given regularly at Treasurer's House. It has been developed in partnership with MySight York who recently gave Treasurer's House Sight Loss Friendly Status - the first attraction in York to get this award.
Frank Green created a unique town house in York, his version of an historic house, to be the perfect showcase for his collection of art, furniture and antiques. This is an enchanced tour focussing on Mr. Green's legacy and other historic elements of Treasurer's House. Explore more about the house.
There are collection items and recreations that can be touched, such as embroidery, carvings and pottery. Visitors can expect a tailored audio description of each room, the relevant history and key parts of the collection.
Tours will run every first Tuesday of the month until October.
