Based in the old Yorkshire Herald Print works, City Screen York Picturehouse has been an integral part of York's arts scene since January 2000, serving the community with three screens open seven days a week, with a great choice of films ranging from selected mainstream, classics, independent, world cinema, documentaries and live streamed theatre, opera, ballet and one off events; City Screen is also renowned for it's Riverside Cafe bar that has gorgeous views across the River Ouse, a top notch menu as eclectic as our film slate, and a great quality selection of refreshments. There are also two art gallery spaces and a live events venue in the basement hosting comedy, live music, burlesque, drag, spoken word and theatre.
