This winter, step into the world of AD 960 and experience JORVIK Viking Centre like never before! For the first time in 40 years, the centre is embracing the chill with an immersive winter makeover, inviting visitors to explore how the Vikings survived the cold. From braving icy winds to keeping their homes and animals warm, you’ll learn all about Viking life during the long, dark Yorkshire months.

Explore the snow-covered Viking Village, where you can hop aboard a Time Sleigh and journey through the wintery streets. Feel the chill in the air and experience the sights, sounds, and even the smells of Viking life on a cold winter’s day.

Next, warm up around the fire in our galleries, where our resident skalds—Viking storytellers—bring to life thrilling sagas of gods, monsters, and legendary heroes. These timeless tales, once shared by Norse communities, offer a glimpse into Viking culture and history. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the Vikings, all within the magic of a winter wonderland setting.

This limited-time experience is running from November 11th to February 23rd, so don’t miss out! Visit the JORVIK Viking Centre from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and pre-book your tickets now to ensure you’re part of this unforgettable journey through Viking winter life.
