About
Pr-act-ise: Acting Workshops
Come for your weekly acting practise; a gymnasium for the actor.
Like all skills, regular practise keeps you progressing, confident, excited and engaged.
There will be redirection, discussion and exploration to see how far we can take a scene. Acting each week with a scene partner and using the same text each session, you will be given the opportunity to perform, hone your skills, and explore areas that you wish to improve.
For Curious Actors
For those doing it for the love of acting, or for those curious to take it a bit further; open to all.
Here we will look into the basics of professional acting, and spend time putting them into practice. We will look into the standard “toolbox” used by all actors, and begin to unpack what these approaches do and why they help. You will experience using them in a scene and combine them together to bring a scene to life.
Tuesdays: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th March
19:15 - 21:45 (2.5h)
12 Places
£20 per session; all 4 sessions for £70, select the first session below to book
Sessions: You can sign up to any number, they are each distinct and work as stand alone sessions. If you are signed up to more that one, we can carry your work forward to the next, and build on what you have already discovered; there is also opportunity to work on the scene between sessions.
You will be emailed the scene we’ll be working on before the start of the sessions for you to become familiar with it and do some initial learning and prep. If you are thinking of signing up but maybe plan to commit nearer the time, please do get in touch to receive the scene (whether you end up booking or not) so that you will also have the time to prepare.
We also offer workshops for Experienced Actors, running on Mondays.
