Who Are We?

Can You Escape? York is a Visit York Tourism Award winning escape room centre located in the heart of York city centre. We host groups of up to six players in our themed, custom-built rooms who work together to solve a series of puzzles and physical challenges in order to escape the room in the fastest time possible.

Our friendly, enthusiastic Game Masters guide you through your exciting adventure and tailor your experience to your needs, whether you’re a newbie looking for something different or an escape expert honing their skills.

We’re currently operating two missions- the secret-agent themed Lone Eagle and the superpowered Operation Hero. Between your game and bespoke briefing & de-briefing from your dedicated Game Master the experience typically lasts 60-90 minutes. Learn more about our games below!

Our rooms are designed for all ages and experience levels, meaning no matter the make-up of your group they’ll be sure to have a great time. We’ve hosted friends, families, kids parties, hen nights, corporate events & everything in between, so no matter what your reason for visiting we’ll be happy to have you!

More than six players? No problem! By booking one of our races, you can go head-to-head with up to 17 of your family and friends to see who can complete their mission first- perfect for anyone with a competitive side!

Operation Lone Eagle

After suffering a terrible humiliation earlier this year Dr Aquila Mind, one of the greatest scientific figures of our time, has snapped. In his madness he has designed a machine that will wipe the memories of everyone in York in just one hour- unless you and your friends can stop him! Go undercover as secret agents in the Doctor’s office and solve the challenges within to save the city!

Lone Eagle is a classic escape room full of hidden secrets and mental challenges, perfect for first-time players, but with enough twists and turns for the most hardened of veterans.

Operation Hero

The Force Four, York’s number one superhero team, needs your help! They’ve been kidnapped by their archnemesis Mobius, and if we can’t locate them soon then it is curtains for all of us. Enter the Force Four’s headquarters and discover your own superpowers as you try to locate & save our heroes!

Operation Hero is a unique room with plenty of bespoke physical challenges. Test your senses and reflexes along with your intellect as you get hands-on and personal with the Force Four’s superpowered security tasks. This unique room will challenge escape room fans looking for a different style of room as much as new players.
